Great first day working on your project!  Some of you have already started the second part of the project to research the consequences of population growth.  For this written part, you can choose to do the first option, the second option, or both if you choose.

First Option: Do some general research about the consequences of population growth.  Write down a summary of your findings to be included in your project.  This can be written in paragraph form or in a bulleted list.  Here are some websites you can check out (feel free to use Google as well to search for more sites):

Second Option: Pick one area of interest to research further.  Write a paragraph summarizing how population growth is negatively effecting some aspect of the world.  Some ideas are listed below, but feel free to research something outside of this list.

Population Project

Welcome to your new project in algebra.  You will use this website over the next two days to find out more about population growth.

Isn’t life more interesting when there are lots of people around?  Then why should people be upset about the idea of a “population explosion”?  Your task is to study different aspects of population growth and to find out why people are concerned.  The websites below will help you to answer the following questions.  Include your previous knowledge and conjectures when appropriate.
